About the Artist:
The two artists are Heather Anacker and Frista Feld. They are collaborative artists that are involved in the BFA in Fiber Arts exhibition that was held here at the California State University of Long Beach. For this specific art, they explain their art and the importance of their piece at the Art’s Gatov Galleries East and West. They do many different types of art. They provided jars of herbs and creating colors through the wood. They show a tool wall, appreciation of fine art, tapestry, flat packing room, scrim, pod, inspiration walls, and even a custom kitchen.

Formal Analysis:
For these two artists, their lifestyle is art. Their art cannot simply be described with “lines”, “color”, “texture” etc, they use almost every type of material for creating different types of artistic qualities. Starting from creating dye from trees, to having a transporting room, these two artists are truly able to use all their senses, experience, interest, and talent to create art that no one else has created. For instance, the tool wall may seem very simple, yet it is very effective. They were able to put the tools that they use, into an art piece when collected altogether. On the other hand, there were other art pieces where it was very tedious, time-consuming, and talent needed to create something so complex. Anacker spent hundreds of hours creating a weave. “It took me one hour to weave one inch” -Anacker. And for Feld, she created a room for herself, but it is a room that she can take to places.

Content Analysis:
For these two artists, it is pretty clear that their life is based on art. Everything they do serve a purpose directly correlating to art. Their lifestyle promotes a different sense of art. Their “home” is a gallery. They are able to work, yet take time to make full meals in the kitchen, which they created. However, even in the midst are able to serve people if people come to the gallery. They use storage rooms as a refrigerator. They hold these galleries to people when in reality, it is their lifestyle. Simply, that is how they live. Art is truly their lives. Not only are these artists limiting themselves to modern art, but are still working and using fine arts such as the sewing machine. Anacker and Feld are able to explain and describe their purpose by showing people how they live. People who may not be so comfortable and unfamiliar with art can see these artists and see a different beauty of art.

My experience:
Through the twenty-minute video, I learned and felt many things. Initially, I was taken aback when I saw them take off their shoes, but when they later explained the reasoning, it all made sense. I loved how their lifestyle was able to portray a different side of art that I never knew of. It seemed like they were able to make all their creativity and imagination come to life. I saw so many different aspects of art. It helped me realize that I can make my own life like an art piece, it did not need to be limited to a piece of paper. Anacker and Feld helped me notice the importance of embracing what you love and being able to share it with so much confidence. I also noticed that these two lovely ladies looked very happy and at peace and I can say that it is because they are able to make their living a lifestyle that is still comfortable.
